Russell County, Alabama Assistant County Engineer Salary Range: $46,000 to $60,000 (EIT) / $60,000 to $79,500 (PE) based on experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and certification as an Engineer-in-Training in Alabama. Duties: The Assistant County Engineer assists the County Engineer with all functions and operations of the Highway Department through the application of engineering principles and practices as prescribed by law and directed by the County Commission. Assistant will be responsible for preparing construction storm water permit applications and maintaining reports during project construction. Assistant will attend various continuing education classes and become certified in a variety of engineering areas related to construction and testing.
